The questions our guests ask us most often, with the answers.

Reservations

How do I book a table at Tante Koosje?

You can book online through our website, or by phone on 0294 – 233201 (Tuesday to Saturday from 2pm, not during dinner service). For a weekend evening we advise booking ahead, and well in advance for the Christmas days.

Can I cancel or change my reservation?

Changes and cancellations are free of charge up to 24 hours before your reservation, by phone or email. This also applies to larger parties and to the Christmas days.

Dining with a group or in private: what are the options?

We have two rooms of our own for private dining: the Wine Loft above the restaurant, for up to 24 guests across three tables, and Koosje Edema's old living room, the Huiskamer, for 12 guests at one table or 18 at two. The whole restaurant can also be booked, for up to 40 people in one room. Call or email us on 0294 – 233201 or info@tante-koosje.nl and we'll talk through the options and the table layout together.

There is no table available on my date. Is there a waiting list?

We do not keep a formal waiting list. Feel free to call us on the day itself, around 3pm: a table regularly frees up by then.

Can I buy a gift voucher, and what can it be spent on?

Gift vouchers can be ordered online through our website. When you visit, we deduct the amount from your bill, so the voucher can be spent on everything we offer: the menus, the à la carte dishes and the wine list. The voucher does not expire, though it would be a shame to leave it lying in a drawer too long.

When can I reach you by phone?

From Tuesday to Saturday we are reachable by phone on 0294 – 233201 from 2pm onwards. Outside those hours the answering machine is on. For a reservation we would rather not be called during dinner service, between 6pm and 10pm.

Menu & dietary requirements

Can you accommodate allergies and dietary requirements?

Yes. Let us know your allergy or dietary requirement when you book (this can also be done on the day itself) and the kitchen will adapt the menu for you. Alongside the Tante Koosje menu we serve a full vegetarian menu of 4 to 7 courses every month.

Is there a vegetarian menu?

Yes. Alongside the Tante Koosje menu there is a full vegetarian menu every month, in the same range of courses as the regular menu. It changes monthly with the season. The current menu and its prices are on the website.

Can you cook vegan, gluten-free or lactose-free?

Yes. Let us know when you book (this can also be done on the day itself) and the kitchen will adapt the menu for you, with the same number of courses as your table companions. Tell us which ingredients you would like to avoid.

Is there a wine pairing, and can it be alcohol-free?

Yes. With both the Tante Koosje menu and the vegetarian menu we put together a wine pairing that follows the courses, in full or half glasses. It costs from € 55,00 to € 80,00 per person depending on the number of courses, and half glasses cost less. If you don't drink, or would rather drink less, our sommelier pours an alcohol-free alternative with each course. Our wine list holds over 250 wines, 12 of them by the glass and 7 alcohol-free.

How long does dinner at Tante Koosje take?

Allow around half an hour per course. Four courses take about two hours at the table, and with six or seven courses it becomes a whole evening. There's no rush. The evening is yours.

Is there a dress code?

We have no strict dress code. Tante Koosje is a living room, not a stage: come as you feel comfortable. Most guests opt for smart casual.

Does Tante Koosje have a terrace?

Yes. In spring and summer, weather permitting, you can eat outside on our terrace at the foot of the old village church, right in the protected village centre of Loenen aan de Vecht. You can also book a table on the terrace. Gault&Millau named it Terrace of the Year, and it's still one of the most beautiful terraces in the country.

Yes, children are very welcome. Do let us know when you book, and we will take it into account.

Can I bring my dog?

Unfortunately dogs are not allowed. Assistance dogs are, of course, welcome.
